Streetscape
New Britain Streetscape Project to Transform Downtown
The Downtown transformation is intended to complement the CTfastrak station and make the entire Central Park area, from the Courthouse to Broad Street, more pedestrian friendly. New signage, wider sidewalks, narrower intersections, bike lanes, and redesigned traffic patterns are underway, largely funded through federal grants and the issuance of bonds.
